As they would be managing ongoing content updates and don’t consider themselves highly technical, the back-end UI had to be easy to understand and efficient to administer. Advanced Custom Fields Pro was used to create intuitive fields for adding text, taxonomies, photos, files and even colour schemes to pages and custom post types.
Custom fields appear conditionally as they are needed to avoid clutter. In the case of product info, SDS and VOC sheets, their content is automatically displayed in a number of places on the front-end, streamlining updates. Additionally, colour codes assigned to product categories are automatically applied to banners and link hover states wherever possible.
YoastSEO and Redirection plugins are used to enhance search engine optimisation and avoid nasty 404 errors. Safe SVG facilitates the upload of scalable vector graphics to the media library while sanitising them quash potential security issues. As always WordFence provides a number of security measures including brute force protection and a web application firewall while off-site backups are taken with the help of Updraft Plus.
