Since the start of 2014, I’ve been working on bringing John Shearer’s visual identity and web presence into the 21st century. John Shearer have been manufacturing farm machinery in South Australia since 1877 and are a brand well regarded by farmers.
As the client’s brand was showing signs of age and they weren’t able to provide logo files, I first redrew and then cleaned up their brand. Along the way I simplified the typographic ornamentation to something cleaner and more modern and produced a suite of situational variants.
The end result is a brand that both looks current and still ties in well with machine stock produced using the old logo artwork.
